Thankfulness

Thankfulness…..that’s what we need. We all need a good dose of reflecting on what we are thankful for every now and then. I know that it is hard at times to be content with what we have, but it is something that we need to put into practice. If we don’t we will end up being bitter and unhappy. My mother, is rounding the bend to her ninth decade of life. She gets discouraged and tells me that she took excellent care of herself and she shouldn’t be dealing with the issues that she is dealing with. I know that it is hard when you can no longer get around without your cane, can’t drive, and find that the print is never big enough. But what she really needs to concentrate on is that she is still alive and  what she CAN do. In perspective, the alternative is not the best option!!

This year, as we gather together with family and friends, find a restaurant , go to work, or sit alone with a frozen dinner on Thanksgiving day…be thankful…..be content….and you will find happiness.

Happy Thanksgiving.
