Finals are coming

Finals: December 16-18

Final words of wisdom…………………

Don’t forget to  fill out your study guides, form a study buddy group, ask someone to question you, and take some time to prepare.

It is important to get at least eight hours of sleep, eat a protein filled breakfast, and bring a bottle of water to keep your body and brain hydrated.

Use your early out time wisely and study for the finals you haven’t taken yet.

A conversation with a tween…..

I spend over six hours a day having conversations with your children and it is a developmental mashup time in their lives. They want to be a child on one hand and make up their own rules on the other. Where do you find the balance? Remember that you do need to establish home rules and consequences with your children. I know that you are tired when you get home from work and might have had a stressful day,  but they are counting on you. Once you establish the rules stay calm when they rant and rave over them. Your behavior, during those situations, will model  how to deal with conflict. Most importantly, don’t give in after they throw a fit, beg, or storm off into their room. If your child decides to not follow through on the rules, give  one warning and then follow through on the consequence. If you do this now it will help during the bigger issues that will come up during their high school years.
