We have completed our first two weeks of school and the students are beginning to understand their schedules and academic requirements. During this time in your child’s development he/she is feeling the stress of classes that are more demanding. As a parent, it is important for you to take  time to show an interest in your child’s life. Ask him/her about  friends, activities, and what he/she is learning in each subject area. Set rules for homework and check  in about their progress. By doing these things you are showing your child that their education and well-being is important to you.

Hello and Welcome!!

Are you ready to begin a new school year?  This will be  your place to stay current on what is going on in the classroom each and every week. If you are in my 7th or 8th grade English Language Arts class you will need to come to school prepared to read, write, and discuss various texts. One of the ways to do this is to purchase two wide or college ruled notebooks to use for the class. One will be used throughout the year for vocabulary, strategies, tips, and writing structure and the other will become your Writing Journal.
